Q: Where is the School of Social Work located and what are its business hours?
A: The School of Social Work director's office is located at 440 Sims Hall. The office is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year (late August through mid May), and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the summer (mid May through mid August).

Q: What is the minimum undergraduate GPA requirement for admission to the master of social work (M.S.W.) program?
A: A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required for admission to the program.

Q: Is the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) required for admission to the master of social work (M.S.W.) program?
A: No, the GRE is not required for admission to the program.

Q: Are there computers reserved mainly for social work students?
A: Yes. There is a computer cluster in Sims 427B.

Q: Does the School of Social Work offer review classes for the CSW exam?
A: Yes. Review classes are generally offered in the spring semester. Classes tend to take place over two days, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 315-443-5550.

Q: Where can I get more information about other schools or organizations that might offer CSW exam review classes?
A: Contact the New York State Chapter of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) at 518-474-3817, or visit the Web site of the Association of Social Work Boards at http://www.aswb.org for more information about CSW exam review classes.

A: Petition to the Faculty Forms are available at 340 or 440 Sims Hall.

Q: Does the Petition to the Faculty Form to transfer credits into my program of study require any accompanying materials?
A: Along with the Petition to the Faculty Form, students must submit course descriptions for each course they wish to transfer, as well as certified transcripts verifying that they completed each course.

A: Add/Drop Forms are available at 340 or 440 Sims Hall.

Q: How do I withdraw from the college?
A: To withdraw from the college, all students must fill out a Withdrawal/Leave of Absence Form, available at 340 or 440 Sims Hall. To request that a form be sent to you by U.S. Mail, call 315-443-5550.

Q: How do I gain readmission to the college?
A: To gain readmission to the college, Undergraduate students must fill out an Application for Readmission/Termination of Leave of Absence Form, available at 340 or 440 Sims Hall. To request that a form be sent to you by U.S. Mail, call 315-443-5550. Graduate students must submit a Petition to the Faculty Form with a brief statement to the director outlining activities since withdrawing from the college and plans if readmitted.

Q: How do I take a leave of absence from the college for health or other reasons?
A: To take a leave of absence from the college, all students must fill out a Withdrawal/Leave of Absence Form, available at 340 or 440 Sims Hall. To request that a form be sent to you by U.S. Mail, call 315-443-5550.

Q: How do I return to the college after a leave of absence?
A: To return to the college after a leave of absence, all students must fill out an Application for Readmission/Termination of Leave of Absence Form, available at 440 Sims Hall or 112 Slocum Hall. To request that a form be sent to you by U.S. Mail, call 315-443-5550.
