►Interested in taking a course you missed while a student, or a course new to our curriculum?  Alumni with an M.S.W. are welcome to enroll in our M.S.W. courses on a space available basis. Call us at 315-443-5550 and we’ll let you know what is being offered in the coming semester.

►We offer the New York State approved training in child abuse identification and reporting that is required for the New York State social work licenses, LMSW and LCSW. Click on News and Events to learn when the next session is scheduled, or call us at 315-443-5550.

►You can use the services of the Career and Professional Development Center in the College of Human Services and Health Professions, where social work jobs, as well as others, are on file. The staff in the Career Center are happy to speak with you, meet with you, and share their resources. 

Social Work Licensure

►Alumni seeking licensure in New York State should consult the information and instructions on our Licensure page. See also the Licensure Frequently Asked Questions.

►If you are seeking licensure in another state, first clarify with that state what you need from Syracuse University, and then mail a request to Lisa Parker at 440 Sims Hall, Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY 13244.  

Ways to be Active as an Alumnus

►Many of our alumni serve as field instructors for current undergraduate and M.S.W. students. Others sit on school committees. If you are interested in getting involved with the school, call us at 315-443-5550.

►Each year, a committee of alumni selects the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Awards, presented each year during Reunion Weekend in June. If you would like to join the committee, call the Office of Alumni Relations at 315-443-5670.
